Safeguarding and E-Safety curriculum at Bempton School
As part of our commitment to enhancing the curriculum and developing pupils’ ICT skills, Bempton School provides supervised access to the Internet, including email.
We take positive and proactive steps to ensure that pupils do not have access to undesirable or inappropriate materials. Our school Internet access provider operates a comprehensive filtering system that restricts access to unsuitable content. In addition, children are given clear instructions about which Internet sites they are permitted to visit and are closely monitored whenever they are online.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure that suitable restrictions are in place, the school cannot be held liable for any damages arising from a child’s use of the Internet facilities. Please read the Rules for Responsible Internet Use below for more information.
At Bempton School, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. Alongside our e-safety measures, children benefit from regular visits and workshops led by our local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), the Fire Brigade, mental health teams, and E-safety specialists. These sessions help pupils understand how to stay safe — both online and in the wider community — and promote their wellbeing and awareness of personal safety.
In today’s digital age, with so many social media apps and online platforms, we understand it can be difficult for parents and carers to keep track. We hope the guides and links provided on our website will help you take the first steps in understanding how to use social media safely with your child.
