Pupil's Area : School Council
At Bempton Primary School we rely on our School Council to be the voice of our pupils.
Each year group of pupils has a representative on the School Council; the representatives are chosen by the pupils each September. Photographs of the Council members can be seen on their notice board.
Mr Hellawell is the adult member of the Council.
The Council meet every month to discuss any concerns which pupils may have and they help to make some of the important decisions about the day to day running of the school.
The School Council introduced our 'Buddy Bench'. Pupils can go and sit on it if they have nobody to play with or if they want to talk to someone.

The Play leaders help our younger pupils to learn new games and encourage then to make new friends.

The School Council gathered together lots of ideas from our pupils about their feelings on behaviour at school. They used these ideas and created our five Golden Rules.
Our Golden Rules
Be friendly, kind, polite and helpful
Remember to use good manners
Listen carefully when others are speaking
Behave sensibly inside and outside school
Try your best in everything you do.
These are now our guidelines for behaviour at school.
